Nice moment for the family for sure.

He's Ms Puck I's favorite player, she was 4 days short of a year old when I took her to her first hockey game and it was Kopitar's first home game as rookie against the Blues, 10/6/06.

She has jerseys, pictures, pucks, I still have the tickets from that game that I framed for her. I'm almost certain next season is it for him so I'm waiting for the schedule and will get tickets to the last home game so she can see him off- 20 years and full circle. She will be 20 on 10/10.

Still don't want to see another Byng winner in LA the rest of my natural life haha. Need some reckless meanies on this roster.

I don't know if this is a good or bad trophy. Means you were too nice.

Actually a fair point. You see how unlikeable so many guys in the finals are, and you do wonder. Some guy online was arguing with me about what the Kings will do post-Doughty/Kopitar, and I felt like they're not that far off from moving on. They played the whole year without Doughty. But his argument was "what about the leadership?". I really don't know that those were the strongest parts of Kopitar and Doughty. They're hall of famers for their game, but leadership? Maybe I'm wrong, but stripping Brown of the "C" and all that wasn't the greatest move. Maybe sold a lot more jerseys.

I dont think leadership has been all that strong for a while. Kopi certainly doesnt seem like the type to call a player out or ever read the riot act during an intermission etc. Doughty on the other hand is more of a hothead where I dont think he would be the best example of a leader with all of his complaining.

LA was lucky. Brown's C was just a letter on the Jersey, 60% of that team was leadership in various ways. Richards, Greene, Stoll, Carter....Mitchell, even guys like Fraser and Hunter, Scudari....JWill etc.....all guys that could wear a C or A and nobody would question it. Brown wasnt a good Captian in ways I like but he was adequate in other ways and obviously the greatest C ever IMO since 2 cups!
