Cook is a project at best and needs to be developed for a few years. So you are correct, if we draft cook (which I doubt we will be in a position to do without trading) KC will have to be the QB. I have no issues with that plan, draft a QB in the mid rounds and see if we can turn him into KCs replacement down the road.

Also, let's be real. We lost that game because we couldn't run the ball and we couldn't stop them from running the ball. They controlled the line of scrimmage all day. The INT was just the final straw.

I agree but technically we lost because of the Int. I see us taking a CB in the 1st round. Let's continue to play hard and develop the young guys and see where we are at when the season comes to a end.

1. Cook
2. Keep Gruden. Start Cousins till Cook is ready
3. Cousins int cost us the game. Was it his fault that the receiver fell down NO but it did cost us the game.

First off, to draft cook we will likely have to suck. Because he is likely to be a top ten pick.

Secondly if we are in a position to draft Cook, Gruden got fired. Because no way does he keep his job if this team finishes bad enough to draft cook.

Third..... You mean to tell me the defense not being able to stop the Falcons ground game, or the kicker missing the early field goal had less to do with us losing than the INT??

Just a snippet on Cook from one of the more respected sites

I expect Cleveland to target a signal-caller in the 2016 NFL Draft. In a previous update, that would've been Jared Goff, but the California quarterback has risen ahead of Connor Cook, who has some accuracy and consistency issues that NFL teams are legitimately worried about. Still, the Browns, like most NFL teams, would reach for Cook, because that's what they do.

This is who you want us to suck and fire a coach in order to draft??

Mind you this isnt a personal attack... but I think alot of people are heart broken that Voldemort didnt work out for us, and as Cousins was already in house just in case, the same people would rather see us draft another QB than give Kirk any hope of becoming what we actually need.

NO what cost us the game was the INT that was ran for a TD then the game was over. I was being technical saying that the Int cost us the game. Yes there are other factors to the game but that int cost us the game. I'm not hoping we fire anyone but yes I would like Conner Cook if we could groom him for a year or two.

And I will state again, Kirks play on that last drive was the ONLY real reason we even had a shot at that game. The defense giving up basically two rushing TDs is what cost us that game.

And unless we suck and fire Gruden, or Cook is suddenly shown to be NOT a top ten pick... we wont be drafting him. Also if we DO draft Cook, that means Kirk is gone in all likeliness. Not to mention I see Cook as a 1st round pick verision of Cousins in any case.

Hey Mr. Empty glass. Shark why did the game end and how did we lose? I'm not saying if the defense did this, or the receiver didn't fall, I'm just saying what literally cost us the game the int. You can debate it over and over but we lost because they ran the int for a TD.

Its pointless to debate it with you because you have already decided that cousins is the sole reason we lost the game. I get where you are coming from.

But I think the underlying sentiment is that you think he is and will be a failure. Only thing I really question is why you have apparently given up on him and the season basically from the moment he was named starter. I seem to remember you had alot more glass full yourself around week two of the preseason.... so aside from the QB change, what changed??

I am not saying he is a bad QB. I am not saying there wasn't other factors in the game. I am just answering your question what game did a qb lose? When a int costs us the game then that's the answer. Now I know its not Cousins fault I was just answering your question. Cousins is the best QB on our roster and we took a 4-0 team into OT so obviously we are doing something correct. Moving on lets see what we can do against the Jets.

Kirk has been pretty inaccurate that doesn't allow for YAC. We've seen countless times where receivers have to stretch against their bodies to catch the ball. He's still the best QB on the roster for this offense, but Gruden has to take off the handle bars.

Actually, his completion percentage is pretty good. But I do agree that yesterday a handful of throws were behind the WRs, limiting YAKs.

So who would you have rather had behind center yesterday, KC or Matt Ryan? Because if you look at their performance, KC had a better day. And Ryan had a running game to take some pressure off. Wonder if the Atlanta fans are saying that Ryan sucks this morning?

Cousins has improved. He is still very inaccurate. He makes the right decisions though. If he were accurate with the ball, we beat the Falcons. I'm more optimistic than I was when I started this thread. Hopefully, he will prove me wrong about his prime time ability and accuracy
