Reality is in between. Nobody is THAT bad.

I know it is just 4 games, but I really have to question the head coach if his system marginalizes a talent like RG3 and pumps up an average QB like Cousins. Like many have said, I believe that Cousins is the better fit in Gruden's offense, but that fact just speaks to Gruden's incompetence.

Great coaches tailor their offense to the strength of their players. Bad coaches blindly plug square pegs into round holes. That is what Gruden has done so far, IMO.

The Redskins have 5 playmakers on offense- RG3, Morris, DJax, Garcon and Reed. Perhaps the 2 best and most important are being held back by the system.

i think Alf has been freed, you are getting to see what he's really like, about 80yds per game, and hope for a TD.

remember, he's not in the glorified shanahan RB scheme anymore.
Long gone are the days of 25 carries/game

Treff,

Having watched every Redskin game over the past 3 seasons, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Morris is their best offensive player despite his limitations in the passing game. I am okay with Helu getting more touches also, but the RBs are being under-utilized big time.

Although Morris lacks the measurables that make scouts drool, he has great vision, excellent patience, and he has a way of gaining 2-5 yards after contact on seemingly every run. He is not a game breaker, but is absolutely a chain mover and he is as durable as they come. Watching Cousins/RG3 throw it 40 times while Alf gets 12 carries makes me sick to my stomach.

And this is going to be Gruden's downfall, because running the football is what this team is built for. They should run it over 50% of the time.

Next two teams on the schedule for the Redskins, Seahawks and Cards. I'd stay away from Cousins for the near future.

Ive been saying it for months (not here I don't think) that he is Rex Grossman 2.0. Hell have good games and good moments and move the ball then turn around and do what he did on Thursday. RG3 is absolutely the better QB IMO and has far more potential. That being said yea the injuries could be a real problem with him, but I hope not cuz I do not trust Cousins.

If Gruden keeps it up, don't think he'll last much longer. The zone read w RG3 & the power run game w Alf were the best weapons in Washington's offensive arsenal IMO before Gruden got there, yet he wanted to come in and change the entire offensive system/philosophy. Look at what Cincy's doing w/o him btw; running the ball a ton, controlling the clock, & looking like the best team in the NFL right now...
