When he tries anymore then that he is a turnover machine
Really? I think you may want to look a lot closer to the second half of the season.
kirk cousins will be rich next year he needs better weapons
Well - a few things in response to what I have read on this forum regarding Cousins:
1. Someone indicated that Cousins was a turnover machine. Was that because of his ONE int yesterday or the 3 ints he has thrown in the last seven games? Do some folks even think before they post?
2. As for Cousins needing better weapons. Perhaps. However - they have quite a few already in players like Reed, Jones & Jackson as well as some of the younger WRs. That alone is pretty good. They just need more time to develop on their own & as a team. Same with the O line. A little luck in the injury dept would also help. I am sure that they will add a little help over the offseason.
The combination of continued player development along with well thought out offseason acquisition should bode well for the Redskins in the next few years. Please remember that they are in the beginning of the development process so there is so tons of room for improvement for most players on the roster.
True. One thing that many don't seem to understand is that young players tend to get better and more consistent with experience. This includes Cousins all the way down to LeRebius (that may be pushing it). We actually have a stable of young guys who have potential to be really good in a few years. We also still have glaring holes, but one or two more off season moves can address those. I am especially psyched about some of the young guys in our secondary and across our OLine.
Perfect example is will Compton. He has real potential, but wouldn't have seen much playing time it it weren't for injuries.Yep & remember - as I alluded to in another thread - a lot of these younger guys are replacements. If things go well the Redskins will get the benefit of bringing back players that are now injured as well as the younger players who will have a year under their belt. Combined with other offseason pickups this could make for a very good team in the next few years.

I agree, although I also think sometimes we get a little too convinced players will develop. A lot of young players come into the league somewhat competent and dont really ever develop. I think we've seen some of that here in the past. Of course I think a lot of that is on coaching so hopefully Gruden and co are up to the task. But I agree theres a good amount of young players who we should expect some good things from.
I think you have to believe young players will develop. Very few players, including most first rounders, come into this league as finished products. You don't draft them if you think they are unteachable.I agree, although I also think sometimes we get a little too convinced players will develop. Patience is something that disappeared with Snyder buying the team. By that I mean in the fan base and many of the folks that post here. Guys like Dalton and Newton are having their best ever years .... in year 5.
McCloughan and Gruden are working through the process of finding out who can play. Everyone is gaining experience and best of all they are getting experience in being in a playoff run. Luckily they will have some patience with guys who show the ability to grow and get better. Just look at last year when many were calling Morgan Moses a bust and this year he is a starting right tackle.
LOL I didn't name names on purpose ehb5. There is nothing wrong with drafting a QB for the future. I wouldn't spend a first on one but then I am not a GM or McCloughan. We speak like he is here next year if SM and Gruden want him but being a FA I am of the mind set that anything can happen.
Anyhow I was speaking of more than Cousin's and this is a Cousin's thread isn't it? I remember people saying we wasted a pick on Moses but it doesn't seem so now. I remember folks saying Shanahan was an idiot for drafting Cousins but that doesn't seem to be the case now. Mostly I am just agreeing with SoCal that this is only year one of the rebuild so more has to be done. I think it is a bonus that we are playing meaningful football in week 14. I guess that is possible because the NFC East is not very good this year.
Interesting read
I don't see that happening. KC is in the drivers seat, but I just can't see SM letting him walk as we have no other realistic options. I bet they come to an agreement soon after the season. I can see a 3 year deal loaded with incentives that could get KC into the $15-18m range. Base could be $12-14m with a large signing bonus and about a 3rd guaranteed.Looks like DC either Franchises him or lose him to FA even if they managed to win their last two games this season. I absolutely cannot see KC getting a long term deal, as suggested in the article, that rivals what top tier QB's are getting. Just not enough on his resume' to justify that. (Also noted in the piece). Sadly, Kirk could play himself out of DC.
