“I’m thrilled that he’s part of an organization that, from every indication I get, is a healthy, well-led organization,” Don Cousins told Wolfson. “That was our No. 1 priority. It was the No. 1 thing that we looked for, that we talked about, that we prayed about, was to be a part of an organization that we believed was well-led and was unified from top to bottom, everyone heading in the right direction, together.

“We do believe, as Kirk said just a moment ago, within organizations, no matter what you’re leading, everything rises and falls on leadership. We believe this organization’s well-led.”

I hope Bruce and Snyder read that quote. Its so true and so on point. Why would anyone want to be associated with this organization at its current status quo?

Good luck Kirk Cousins, cant say I really blame you. We only get 1 life.

Glad it's being made more clear that Kirk was never willing to re-sign here. I don't blame him, but I think he was a bit dishonest with the fans. I'm not going to be wishing him well or ill. He's just another football player.

I'm sure he wanted it to work out here. The Redskins were a team that gave him that chance.

Its just such a dysfunctional, losing organization

and its not like Dan Snyder is 80 years old either...

Yeah. The Vikings are a well led, well run organization... that is unless things fall apart and instead of building on their strong run this year, some things don’t break their way and they go in the other direction over the next couple of years. Then their great “organization leaders” will get shit canned as with any team...

Dude is making a hundred million dollars for the next THREE years! Then he can move on again if something isn’t going his way. It’s a freaking job. So just stop.. and as @Ruzious said, it was all a smokescreen. He is as entitled as the rest of them.

Because the Vikings have a relevant 20 year history of dysfunction like the Redskins right?

Just saying things change quickly. Stability and a “well run outfit” is all nice and easy to say when things are going well for the franchise. But the nature of the business is that the movement of players and the organizational chart is fluid and always changing. Everyone n the league knows this. Winning is ALL that matters and no one is safe when things go south... minus the owner of course.

But I will give it to Kirk. He has set himself up nicely for a clean break in 3 years if things don’t go his way, he gets his feelings hurt again, or (if we are being honest here) he finds a better situation and better $$$ elsewhere.

Don't blame him for leaving this place. The FO treated him poorly and did not bargain in good faith. We are less of a team without him. But hell if it makes you feel better than good on you.

With Minnesota's history of greatness I hope he does well in keeping up with the exclusive well run organization that keeps on winning.

Don't blame him or praise him for this move. I basically don't care about him any longer (like most Ex-Redskins). They might be worse without him, but I will just continue to pull for the Skins in spite of their flaws & perhaps crappy FO. In my case I don't really have a choice - this is the NFL team that I support (warts & all).

waiting for that fluidity in DC.... thought change was on the horizon with Scott but boy was I wrong...

For the GOT nerds

"he would see this country burn if he could be king of the ashes"

kinda describes Snyder and BA

Fwiw, one ex-Redskin I root for is Lorenzo Alexander. He never got a huge contract, but at age 34 has been a bargain probably every year of his career. He fell back last season but played his best game in Buffalo's playoff loss - with 10 tackles. This might be his last year in the NFL, so us die-hards might want to give him a round of applause for being a good reason for us being NFL fans.

I typically cut bait with players too. I like the guys who work hard and we just treated or used wrong such as Ryan Clark, Antonio Pierce, and of course Lorenzo Alexander.

That being said, I will be cheering for KC because I think he did everything right here and was treated far worse than any other player we have had. He worked himself up over the number two pick in his same draft, played on prove it deals for three years (proving it each year), having his boss not know his name, and then thrown under the bus for not signing a contract that was well beneath whatever he should have been.

So yes...I will be cheering for KC and hope they win the SB this coming season because I believe the entire offseason has been a disaster. I think there is zero chance the Skins win the SB this season, but I will be hoping for the best, and if a miracle happens and we end up playing Minnesota in the playoffs I will be cheering for the Skins.

Cousins was able to do one thing that Dan and Bruce were not able to do.

Earn my respect for the way he worked for it and handled himself.

So hell yes I will be pulling for him and I hope he does win a title with the Vikings this year.

And yea, maybe I miss the old days when you didnt have to chose between the team and the player, because the players WERE the team.

Arrington for a minute. Bruce Smith got a whole lot of love from Dan. And Dion Sanders while not a lap dog, was a pampered one as well.

Beyond players Snyder's biggest crush was on Gibbs when he returned. He had the look of a young girl being infatuated w/ a rock star when Gibbs returned. I swear if Gibbs didn't step down Snyder might have kept him as the coach for as long as he wanted regardless of the results.

And for good or bad that may be Dan's problem ... he will forever be fan boy instead of a leader at the top.
