He said the Raiders and Redskins will be the two active teams in the first round. He said that Raiders could go Fowler or Cooper at #4. Then he says the Redskins could take Scherff at #5, Fowler, or trade down. What doesn't make sense is that wouldn't Fowler already be gone at #3 to Jax? I cant believe he justified taking Scherff at #5.

This makes me think that Williams is going to be available at #5. IF we take Scherff over Williams or Cooper at #5, I will freak out. A lot of "experts" believe that MM is going #2 whether its the Titans or someone else. This should only help our cause of getting Williams or Cooper the two best players in this draft.

The video is on ESPN if anybody want to listen to it. Its free.

Dude, you really get wrapped around the axle on these mock drafts. You do realize that Kiper is not our GM, right? I can promise you, Scot has not given Kiper any idea if what he is going to do.

I realize that but I value Kipers opinion more than Mcshay,Mayock, and all the other guys that do this for a living. I think Kiper has inside information on what happens in the league. Just my opinion. Plus Kiper knows how to evaluate talent.

I agree about the talent eval part, but no gm is talking to Kiper. As far as what jax, tenn, oak, or was is going to do, he has no more insight than you or I. It is in every teams best interest to keep your cards close to the vest and not divulge anything. I bet there aren't 3 people in the entire redskins organization that knows exactly what Scot is thinking. Mock drafts are worthless except for entertainment value only, I don't care who's mock it is.

Doesn't Scot have to tell Jay and Dan what he is thinking? Doesn't Dan give the final say?

Nope. According to Bruce, Scot has complete autonomy. Now, Bruce might be aware, but only superficially. Gruden probably is also involved a bit, but it's primarily Scot and the director of scouting building the big board.

Just as a sanity check, Kiper got a whopping 4 picks right in 2014 first round based on his final mock. And he is probably one of the better ones.

Yup, and this included the first 2 picks, which were a slam dunk as the teams had already announced who they were picking (Clowney and Robinson).

i find it funny how scherf is moving up the draft board

i find it funny how people say SM will draft the "BPA "( like no general manager has ever said that) because he said so

remember alex smith was the BPA

i like the guy and feel he has done right but he has attempted to fix needs in FA and i bet that best player available happens to address a need
