I like those players, but if I've heard correctly, he has us passing on Vaccaro to pick Ogletree. Bleh.

If Thomas is our 2nd round pick, I hate it. Terrible. Vaccaro, Cyprien, Elam, Reid, Swearinger all better.

And Johnathan Banks isn't dropping to the end of the 2nd round.

what I didnt like, he's got a top 10 defense selecting 3 defensive players before addressing this horrible offense.

Our defense actually needs more help than our offense in my opinion, as long as we resign Tubbs back.

Only real positions of need on offense: WR, RB - We have a #1 WR, and Sanu coming back next year along with Hawkins and Jones, but I think we need to slide Sanu inside and add a real threat at #2 to make the offense purr more. At RB we can use a real upgrade, but it isn't like BJGE is all of a sudden going to become a backup to whoever comes in, it will probably be shared time.

On defense, we bring our line back in tact minus Sims, but he was a forgone conclusion that he was going to be gone with Stills and Thompson drafted last year, regardless of how good Sims is/was. We are a complete desaster at LB in my opinion. Unfortunately we brought Rey back, and the only good LB we have is Burfict, so in my opinion, we need two quality LB's, but in Marvins head, I am sure we only need 1. And in that case, I am hoping it is going to be Zavier Gooden, because he looks like a natural pass coverage LB with his speed and hips.

We need S badly, and we need CB in my opinion, because Newman is not going to be the same player. Kirkpatrick hasn't shown anything yet and who knows if Pacman retains the same hunger after signing a new 3 year deal.

However DE is not a bad option now either, someone we can maybe replace Dunlap and maybe Geathers with eventually. Defense seems to have holes from top to bottom pretty much, where as even as crappy as our offense was, there are not many holes that the coaching staff would even consider changing (IE: Dalton and Gresham).

I agree that we need linebackers and a safety. Those positions should have been addressed in free agency, but we don't do that sort of thing.

I disagree that the offense is set. We desperately need a tight end that can actually help Dalton not hurt him. Gresham is not it. We desperately need another playmaker - Whether that player is a 2nd receiver or a running back it doesn't matter. We just need someone that can take it to the house. We need to address interior line. I'm not sure there is any reason to be sold on Boling and Robbins. And we probably need a right tackle when Tits takes an offer from another team.

I'd like to see some combination of S, LB, RB, and WR in the first 4 picks

Keenan Allen/DeAndre Hopkins
Arthur Brown
Eric Reid
Jonathan Franklin

Or

Alec Ogletree
Justin Hunter
Eric Reid
Gio Bernard (stock is falling)

Or

Kenny Vacarro
Arthur Brown
DaRick Rogers
Knile Davis

Lots of combinations, just get S, LB, RB, WR with those 4 picks. Probably another LB after that.

i'm ok with us drafting any safety worth his jock strap. if we get an injury there, we'll be running a backup qb as a safety with this retarded bunch of jerks in the front office.

I agree about the TE, but it is not going to happen. Gresham was a 1st round pick, has been to a probowl, Marvin and Mike are not goign to make a change at this time regarding TE, so we may as well forget about that.

I think this one of yours, but would prefer Kniles Davis at RB, but would not be upset with Bernard either I suppose.

Bernard is light years better than Davis. Don't be surprised if Davis goes undrafted.

Good possibility I suppose, but given his size and speed, I think he is worth the risk in the 3rd round. I mean shit, we took Kenny Irons in the 2nd, Jerome Simpson (project) in the second, Donte Moch 3rd round. All these guys were projects, but had the raw talent, the things you cannot teach.

PS..Yes, I notice a trend there too, they all sucked. David could be the same way, but how often can you get your hands on a RB that is a very big athletic back, who runs a 4.3 - 40?

But that doesn't equate to success.

You are right, it absolutely doesn't. but sometimes you have to take the risk in order to reap the rewards. Sometimes you fall flat on your face, and fail. Inventors and businessmen all know this. You try and try and try until you final get that one gem that stands out above the rest. If no one took risks, and didn't continue to try until they were successful, what kind of place would this be right now? What great things could we be missing out on?

I am in no way saying Davis is guaranteed success. i think he has a larger uphill climb that most, but the things you can't teach are there. Now, is he smart enough to take that talent an apply that raw ability to the classroom and make himself a better player that can succeed.

Just a thought.

I agree with that, and have no problem taking that risk, but not in the 3rd. The Bengals HAVE to improve the run game. Not a situation you can just take a chance like that. A team with a good run game can.
