He wasn't going to crack he roster this season and was an RFA. At least he will get some playing time in rebuilding Vancouver, plus the Kings lose an expiring contract and get a solid two-way defender as a prospect.
It's great to see the Kings winning but it must suck as a Kings prospect knowing your chances of playing in the NHL any time soon are slim.
I don't mind this deal at all, Vey wasn't going to make the lineup anytime soon barring injury. LA still has some good prospects and based on how the Kings have drafted I think they will find something good.
