So 7.2 mil to sign 6 guys, including the RFAs.
Jones, TT, Shore, Andreoff, Weal, and some guy named Nic Dowd
Plus Sekera
Now if Voynov gets jail time that frees up another 4 mil.
That is the sticky point. By pushing the trial back until July 6th the Kings got screwed again

There has got to be a way to get a waiver for this situation. The NHL should be able to waive Voynov's salary against the cap until the legal issues are cleared up. If he is found not guilty or once it is resolved to the here Voynov can play in the NHL again, then his salary should be back on the books. And if that happens the Kings can deal with it at that time. But if for whatever reason he can't play in the NHL again, the Kings can sign players now and not miss out on any opportunities. If nothing else, they can either trade Voynov or some other players to make it under the Cap if it comes to that.

So per Jon Rosen (@lakingsinsider), Voynov's salary doesn't count against the Kings salary cap because the Kings suspended him because he suffered some non hockey related injury.

This is pretty clever move. Voynov won't lose any pay if he is acquitted and is well enough.
They can now maybe sign, Sekera.
If Voynov is cleared the Kings can trade one of them, because they will have some time whist the NHL conducts its investigation

No one is going to want Voynov from the Ali he even if he is acquitted.

That's exactly why they put him on, he injured himself working out (what is it with Kings players? Didn't Mitchell miss a season altogether because of an injury sustained in the off season working out?).

FYI, during the offseason (July 1 to the last day of TC) all teams can be 10% above the salary cap. They need to be compliant however by Opening Night.
