Pamela Adlon (voice of Bobby Hill) gave an interview recently that has details of the revival

-They're already working on a 2nd season

-Johnny Hardwick (Dale Gribble) was able to record a few episodes for season 1 before he passed. No word on how they'll address that going forward though whether Dale will be written off or recast

-The show is gonna have a time shift. Bobby Hill is now a 21 year old fusion chef that lives in Dallas

The time skip seems essential. Futurama came back without a time skip and the whole thing just felt like an unessential cash grab.

The voice of adult Bobby is still a women? I guess they can make that work. I'm not sure I want King of the Hill without Dale, Lucky, and Luanne.

Released a teaser image today.

There's also rumors of some voicing changes. Ronnie Cheng will play Khan (formally Toby Huss). And due to the death of Johnny Hardwick, Toby Huss will move over to play Dale though Hardwick did record some episodes before his passing.

Some details:

After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.

Some cool stuff from the intro if you watch closely:

-Good Hank (Cotton's youngest son) and DeeDee appear
-Nancy appears to be with John Redcorn again
-Hills move out, new guy moves in
-A Gribble runs for mayor
-Bill coughs, next scene is Boomhaur, New Guy, and Dale wearing facemasks (Dale wearing it like a chin diaper) while socially distancing. Looks like Covid times
-Khan and Minh have an argument while walking their dog (rumors from a couple months back say Khan got divorced and now lives with Bill)

Bill Dauterive

As McNab wrote, fans who watched the new intro sequence panicked when Bill seems to develop COVID and then never returns for beer in the alley, even though press materials included him. At the panel, we were assured that Bill is alive, but that he’s had a very hard time with the Hills’ big move; Patterson said that when Hank returns, Bill tells him, “I think I finished Netflix.”

Can't possibly write off Bill/Stephen Root.

And they should have made Peggy fat.

I also noticed Boomhower leaving with a lady and a teenaged boy. Not sure if he settled down or just dating a single mom

The voice actor that played John Redcorn just got shot and died. RIP

This reboot is going to be rough long-term I'd imagine. Hopefully we get at least one great season.

He's in the new season, which is finished now, just waiting to air. They can write off Redcorn next season or recast if need be.

Poor guy was in a real bad place reading up on it. Lost his home and 3 dogs in a house fire earlier this year, supposedly struggling with alcohol issues for awhile. He crashed the panel a few days ago where they revealed the trailer and gave some weird, rambling speech where you could tell he was having some kind of mental breakdown. Then a couple days later gets into an argument with a neighbor who pulls out a gun and kills him

Yeah, thats why I figured we had one good season. I'd imagine the precedent would be to give Redcorn a happy ending. Given the nature of his character, I'd imagine the new season would probably dictate what that was.
