I gave a breakdown on HC MVD roster few days ago - team without stars, but full of veterans and playing a good system. Coached by Oleg Znarok, who doubles as head coach for Latvian national team.

Ak Bars is a different story. Current holder of Gagarin Cup, this team is an established powerhouse in Russian hockey. Coached by legendary defenseman for USSR teams of 80s Zinetulla Bilyaletdinov (try to pronounce it), Ak Bars roster features number of well-known players.

Penguins fans and Brodeur of course remember Aleksei Morozov, who played more than 400 games for Penguins in 90s. At 33 he is still one of the best forwards in KHL and one of the leaders in Russian national team. He was injured in previous game and is not playing today.
Nikita Alexeev played more than 100 games for Tampa
Niko Kapanen has about 400 games with Dallas, Atlanta and Phoenix
Fellow Finns Hannes Hyvönen, Jarkko Immonen and Janne Pesonen all have limited NHL experience, but extensive Europian careers.
Ilya Nikulin, Alexei Tereshchenko and Danis Zaripov are experienced veterans and solid players for Russian national team.
There are also very impressive prospects, currently playing for Ak Bars: Evgeny Bodrov, Vyacheslav Buravchikov, Nikolai Lemtyugov, Alexei Yemelin and Mikhail Yunkov

Everyone expected Ak Bars to walk over HC MVD. But a good playing system and insane saves by Garnett kept modest Balashikha team in series. Today's game shows that it's about to end. If Ak Bars plays like that in game 7, there is no chance for HC MVD to keep up with them.
