Why do we want someone as our QB coach, who never played quarterback in college or pros?

just asking, I'm sure someone out there has better football knowledge. It just seems odd to me.

His father is a famous NFL offensive coordinator and innovator. The fastest way to employment with the Bengals is to have a famous family member.

That said, I don't agree that the best coaches are guys that have played - That's definitely not always true.

My guess is, the way it really works is, between Zampese, Urban, and Gruden, Dalton is tutored by committee. Whoever is standing in front of him at the time, that's who he's listening too.
