OK, so I am in a 12 teamer where we have to keep1 with the option for 2. The only guys I have keeper worthy are Foster, Martin and Tate. I'm looking to trade one of these guys (probably not Tate as I need him to field a team, lol). So what do you guys think fair value would be for Foster or Martin? We have a few teams that aren't going to have keepers for next year and I was just wondering your thoughts. Both of these guys could be huge lotto tickets next year and Foster was playing well before this injury. Also, with half of the year off he could take the time to heal all of his other nagging injuries and actually come back fresh next year. Thoughts?

Trading keeper for only keeper value, you will have to trade with a team that is not in the hunt for the playoffs(since they are playing for now)... so there is only so many teams that you can make this deal with... But to any team that will want those players you can still get great value, maybe a julius thomas and randall cobb for one of them...

Should have made this clearer. Your keeper(s) count as rounds 1 and 2 so Thomas and Cobb (I have Thomas and dropped Cobb after he got hurt) wouldn't really be keeper worthy. I was thinking of LBell or somebody along those lines for Foster..............a young RB or stud WR.

Fair value for either back can't be calculated here. It all depends on how those owners perceive them. If you can't get someone you would keep, then you're probably better off keeping them... but I don't think it would take much for me to rid myself of both... (yes I'd take Bell..but wouldn't give Bell)... what about the RG3 owner? or maybe a disgruntled Spiller owner?

tough call.. but I wouldn't hold them too high.

That's pretty much where I'm at to be honest. I just posted on our message board and we will see if I get any offers.............I'm sure Martin will be fine but I imagine there is a lot of risk with back surgery. I honestly think if Foster comes "back" healthy next year he could be a monster again with less that 200 carries this year.

I dunno Sam.. If I had too pick two RB's whose value in a keeper league is at its lowest possible point.. These two dudes are it.

I really wouldn't trade Martin, you won't what he's worth. I would deal Foster though, keep either Tate, or someone else. I truly feel Foster has just begun his impression If Shaun Alexander, it ain't gonna get better next year.
And honestly, if you can get anything resembling a WR1 for him, jump all over it.

My take:

Foster - he'll be 28 next season and has tons of mileage. RB's don't last long. Not even the elite ones. And his star is fading. That said, I'd venture to guess that he's a top 10 overall pick in next year's draft. The value of of other backs is like the housing market.
Tate - he's no spring chicken either. 26 I believe? And while he's excellent as a tandem back, he doesn't thrill me as a feature back.
Martin - he shocked the world in 2012. Then he shocked his fantasy owners in 2013 with his sub-par play, then his injury. Given his age, and the rebuilding of the Bucs, I'd say he's a fixture worth keeping.
