Keeper League TRADE ADVICE

I have a league where we keep 8.

At the beginning of 2019, I traded deGrom, Blackmon and a 1st round pick for Acuna.

that is what you do if you trade deGrom. Don’t get pieces for him, turn him into a top five redraft pick.

Who would that be for next year though? or 2023?

I think it just came over to be in the trade as screwed up. I think it just meant Round 1,2,3 after keepers (8)

Sorry, yeah I usually have Franmil in there in Utility and Whit at CF it's just that I had that lineup when games got cancelled and what not.

I may have been harsh on Edman too. Certainly a good asset.

It’s still Acuna... but there is Soto, I still think Betts is there. Some good SS worthy, but you have Lindorand no MI roster spot. 3B is your hitting hole, and Ramirez or Machado would be stretching the line (if an offer comes in with one of them plus a pitcher then we’ll see)

And I’m not saying to trade deGrom. In fact, I don’t think you should even consider it outside elite talent. That group of arms around him is pretty weak.

I thought you were saying that you needed a "prospect" that was a can't miss instead of a player like Acuna (He doesn't have) so I can't put him into the deal.

Yeah most likely. So I need (in your opinion) and absolutely Haul of talent for deGrom and not "quality prospects"

absolutely and even then im not sure id trade the best pitcher in mlb who is a dying breed (goes 6 or more about every start)
not sure i would have done the trade of degrom/blackmon for Acuna too much to give up

Keep in mind, my staff is Cole, Glasnow, Flaherty, Gallen (4 of 8 keepers), plus Wainwright and Jon Gray.

Funny though, just traded Moncada for Blackmon the other day. Getting sick of Moncada’s roller coaster career, even though Blackmon is on the back end of his.

Yes, but also trading away Acuna takes an over the top offer. My deGrom plus a 1st and 2nd was rejected. deGrom and Blackmon was rejected. I bit the bullet and went for over the top.

Personally, I think a 1st (9th round) is over hyped (which is why I usually trade it away).

Speaking of trades... just got away from Buxton the other day in my 8-keeper league. Turned he, Gallen and a 1st into Bregman.

On face value I don’t like the trade for you. But you did say 8 team. So I assume you have elite players at SP and another good cf( if I remember right this league is the one with actual positions and a true dh??)

no, the true DH is my main league redraft.

Maybe I wasn’t clear. As this thread seems to have the same rules regarding keepers and draft.

8 keepers each, THEN, rounds 1-18 follow. I traded my 1,2,3 in season. My first pick the following year was Buxton at 4.12.
