think if he keeps progressing, he becomes the best paid backup in the NFL.

This was the subject of about 50 posts on ESPN before everyone came here. After one year it seems the Redskins have a star in the making with Griffin. The question is, how healthy can he stay? I would say Kirk needs to be here at least two more years to make that evaluation. If he plays a lot and plays well his stock goes up, if Griffin stays healthy and Cousins doesn't get on the field much his stock goes down but for the good of the team he stays at least two more years.

Had he played in the 2nd half of the Seattle playoff game I think the Redskins win.

2015 sounds about right if it shakes out for KC.

I think if Shanny/Allen can get move him next offseason for a 2nd rounder..they would be fools not to take it. Otherwise keep him another year. Don't let this guy get onto the open market when his contract runs out. I am not sure what the future NFL QBs are looking like in the upcoming drafts..but I believe NFL Draft '14 is looking pretty good at the position.

Think it's against the new rules to use the Franchise Tag to trade players when they become free agents. And I don't know if the Skins would have the cap space to carry that much money at the QB position for the purpose of trade when the time comes even if it was legal to do it.

So if they are going to trade him, they need to do it with one year left on his contract.

Otherwise at that point he's either committed here as a back up or he moves on in free agency.

might as well combine and sticky some of these KC threads because this debate isn't going to resolve until he is traded.
