Breaking Down Andre Roberts 18-Yard Touchdown

here is a breakdown of KC's Td pass to andre roberts vs the giants

read his breakdown and its good but i want to add a few more tid bits

KC will beat you pre -snap and the read through the drop back . if he KNOWS what the defense is doing and what his progressions are in our offense he completes passes

in these clips he had paul open early however the o/line gave him good protection which allowed KC to have andre roberts run himself open

that is the frustrating part of our o/line . it is so inconsistent in pass protection which causes Kc to "rush" his throws . hence why i beat the drums for an improved consistent o/line

tom brady is having the same issues in New england . if you watch the film you will see his o/line is poor and brady is anticipating hits and pressure causing him to "rush" his throws

tom brady is one of the best qbs in the game

now i go to Rg3 . he isnt as strong as KC in pre -snap . why ? because athletic qbs tend to hold the ball longer and make up for that deficiency by running and extending plays . call it "athletic arrogance".

you guys have heard coach gruden needs to "trust " and let it fly ? i believe Rg3 doesnt "trust ' his o/line and hence he doesnt trust his reads

on the morris play he forced it to morris and it was picked . everyone saw reed wide open down the seem and perhaps Rg3 saw it too but with pressure at his feet he simply went to the safety valve

KC and Rg3 are 2 different qbs at 2 different stages of development

with a good o/line like romo has in dallas i believe that qb play from both guys will be enhanced

I don't think there is any argument that Griff holds the ball longer. But there should be no doubt that Cousis in his first 2 games had much better protection than Griffin did in the opener. Funny how that worked when JJ Watt was not on the other side. I also am convinced that had he stayed healthy Griff would have had a monster game against the Jags too. Hard to say he would have outplayed Kirk against Philly because Kirk was fantastic.

But that's kind of how this year went for RGIII. He drops 2 perfect bombs into Djax's lap but a bad call and a drop negated them both. So they never happened and everyone bitches at his yards per throw. Then of course he gets hurt as he is playing great.

take the wins as they come and celebrate them, even if we do finish 5-11

i believe this team will be better towards the end of the year. reed will be healthy , paul will be a legit 2nd te

cofield and bowen should be back and make the rotation formidable

the young guys will be more experienced

i see us looking much better as the year goes by the next few weeks notwithstanding

A lot of us said all along that Cousins wast the better pocket QB and read defenses better. No new information Cooley's break down of Cousin's game against the Giants was much like Roberts. He said Cousins reads the D, knows where his premier receiver against the defense he saw and he locked onto him too much. Also said by Gruden past game. Much like we heard about Griffin ... Cooley said Cousins had other options open that were further downfield but he didn't look at them or didn't choose them. Clearly we have two young QBs that have things to learn. Nothing wrong with that.

100% on point. Every QB misses open receivers. This goes double for young QBs. It also should be mentioned that just because a guy is open downfield does not mean he was the first or even 2nd read on the pattern. TV show replays of guys running open and the fans go nuts, failing to realize that the play was designed to look for another receiver first and that open guy could have just been used to clear the zone.
