Most of the "track" guys you mention who have succeeded at pro football were football players who ran track - not track stars who converted to football - Bob Hayes being the exception on your list.

You need a good conversation in front of a mirror to get the kind of conversational satisfaction you appear to be seeking.

Bob Hayes was a running back his first sport was football.

I was wrong about that - you are correct.

Well at least you didn't say.....he was a wide receiver....which most do. The Cowboys made a WR out of him, HS/college RB.

Story goes the track coach at Florida A&M had to ask Hayes to join the track team, he was on a football scholarship. Hayes being recruited by Willie Galimore a FAMU running back legend.

Nehemiah never ran in the Oympic and that sucks. He made the team but the USA boycotted, so no Olympics for us.

As a Niner he did little, Walsh too afraid he'd get hurt......yep, he said that.

Ollie Matson the 1952 Olympic 400m bronze/4x4 gold the best example of a track star/NFL star before Hayes. Matson in the Hall of Fame.

So, we're all agreed then that track stars don't make great football players.

Can we move on now?
