well joseph is a little bigger then sanders while sean taylor was 6-2 212 lbs

i wouldnt mind joseph if we got him but the hype that he is a sean taylor clone is simply foolish
Bill Polian is the GM who picked Sanders, and Sanders is the player he compared Joseph to, so he likes him a LOT, but... thinks he'll have issues staying healthy in the NFL due to his size, so he thinks he's a 2nd rounder.

Joseph puts me in the mind of LaRon Landy more than Sean. But Landry seemed much faster than Joseph. NFL draft countdown has Joseph running a 4.6 40.

Yeah, Sean and LaRon were top 10 picks. People are forgetting that. To compare him to those guys is unfair. I like him, maybe even at 21, but would like him a lot better at say 33 and maybe steal the Browns 3rd or two 4th's if they want to move to 21 and grab Lynch or something.

Being fast in a straight line means little if you have no football instincts and a nose for the ball/plays. Would you want a guy 6'3, 230 lbs and ran a 4.3 - 4.4 40 playing safety? Sounds great right? That was/is Taylor Mays from USC. He blazed a 40, was a beast physically. No instincts or ability to play the position.

Joseph appears to have that and his .2 second slower 40 time doesn't seem as much of an issue.

Can he play free or is he strictly a SS?

Seems like in today's NFL, there is no real designation anymore. Not with they way teams spread the ball around and use the TE in the passing game. The true "in the box" safeties with no coverage ability are going the way of the dinosaurs.

Looks like Joseph has coverage ability and a nose for diagnosing plays...while at the same time is not afraid to mix it up and put the pads on someone. Sounds like a perfect safety. Only knock is the slightly smaller size and of course the injury.

IM seeing mixed reviews on Joseph. Some have him as a first rounder, others have him in the 2nd and even the 3rd.

I love the tape I see on this kid and he is a thumper. I would not be mad to see us take him and hope he is there at 53 for us. BUt at 21.... I would have mixed feelings.
