Did anyone else see the disturbing Beats headphone commercial that featured Kaepernick riding in a bus to a game that was to be played in a fictional location, which appeared to be Seattle and there were fans screaming at the bus, throwing objects that broke the windows and were being extremely unruly. I really think this commercial is in poor taste.

Any thoughts?

I personally thought it was great. I guess the Seattle fans throwing shit at the bus could be taken the wrong way, but overall I thought it advertised the product pretty flawlessly.

I was embarrassed by it. It's the same bs as the Garnett commercial, which I hate. Stop doing commercials, dude. Just get better.

Beats is over priced garbage. Dre cashed out whatever interest he had in the company a few years ago to an investment firm. Probably still collects fat royalty checks for his name being used on the product, but has 0 involvement in anything they put out.

Bose and especially Polk make a superior product with more bang for the buck.

As for the Kaepernick commercials, what a pantload. Everytime he comes here, he shits the mattress on the field and looks like a deer in headlights. Funny how that didn't show up in the commercial.

The Bose noise cancelling headphones I have, which are the same price as the Beats are far superior product. That being said I do have to give credit where credit is due, who ever runs the marketing department for them is doing a damn good job. (Minus the Kaepernick commercial, that was just retarded.)

As long as it makes you remember what it's trying to sell, the ad people have done their job well. The more memorable the commercial, regardless of what it's memorable for, the better the sales (unless the commercial is so horribly misguided that it actually causes people to turn on the company that is being marketed). The worst thing a commercial can be to a company is forgettable. This commercial in particular might be painting Seahawks fans in a bad light, but you're not gonna forget about it any time soon or forget what it's trying to sell. Besides, I'd be more upset about it if it hadn't already portrayed several other fanbases the same way.

I also think that they are doing EXACTLY what they intended to do and doing it well. They are taking advantage of the rivalry, they are stretching the truth to fit their narrative, and they are highlighting the product in order to sell it. I posted this on the Niner board too...in commercials, we have dancing bears preferring one toilet paper over another, beer that makes women in bikinis pop up magically, and the fact that RW and CK actually have a life long friendship. C'mon now. I get it, it depicts your fan base far more aggressive then you are. But they are not the news, where accuracy matters. Their job is to sell the product and the more rabid the fans, the more effective the storyline to the commercial.

I think it's nothing really. If you are staying away from Beats because they are an inferior product, I salute you and I agree. If you are staying away from Beats because of this commercial, then maybe your panties are wadded up and you may want to check on that.

Too bad it didn't show a garbage can landing on Kaepernick's head.

I don't doubt that at all. I totally agree that Kaep seemed rattled. But it's a fucking commercial not BBC or CNN. They're trying to sell a product.

Advocating violence should never be a way to make a buck. They could have shown the yelling and taunting, but should have left out throwing things at the bus, that is where I have a problem with the commercial.

The violence intensifies the extreme nature of the situation to make the product seem as if it would hold up and silence even the most extreme of situations. Again, they are selling the product and the violence actually helps the target audience identify the product's worth.

I guess agree to disagree.

Lol @ how Kaepernick is on the bus alone and gets off the bus alone.

Just goes to show how he thinks of himself. Not as part of a team but as just one individual.

Ironic how they make it appear as if he is calm and collected. Whenever he plays in Seattle he looks like he is going to shit his pants.

When I first saw the commercial, I was enjoying it, fun jabs at Kaep, but when it turned ugly, I no longer was a fan of the commercial. The violence is not needed, the point was made with taunting and yelling. This commercial also alienates the entire Seattle fanbase, which I am sure is not something a company wants to do ever. I have a feeling that commercial won't be showing up in Seattle very often, if ever again.

Yes, because I'm sure Kap directed this commercial himself.
