He hasn't signed him yet. It's also unrealistic to think you are going to have 53 Boy Scouts on your roster.

The point is if you are really building a team of high character guys as they claimed to be doing then why are they even bringing in a player who has been such a problem in the locker room and off the field that his former team cut a hugely productive player, taking a $17 million cap hit in the process?

If they want to take the risk I'm fine with it, they did the same thing with Culliver. But just don't pass this off as a team of nothing but high character guys, you can't have it both ways.

Only thing I can think of outside of Talent trumping all, is the subjective 'dumb guy' vs 'bad guy'

I think character will come into question when deciding whether to re-sign a core guy, draft a player in the 1st or 2nd round, or spend big on a free agent. Minimal risk here. That's my best guess. Didn't Crowder just allegedly beat up his girlfriend? I don't hear anyone calling for his head. I say high reward, low risk. Why not?

Hmmmm. Pot Roast does know him from the past. I'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear behind the scenes discussion on this guy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fine if they sign him. He's going to play somewhere so why not for my team? Just don't tell me the free agents they will sign will all be high character guys as they will be the leaders of the team. That's what SM said and it was obviously not true. Again the Saints told a very productive player to go away, taking a huge cap hit in the process, for a reason.

Dude... Im actually hoping we DO sign him. He would add to the talent base and give us a legit starter across from Kerrigan. As for the alleged off field issues, we have a video from two years ago showing him swinging a belt in the midst of a brawl. And an accusation that was dropped.. oh and a traffic infraction for driving on a suspended.

Bottom line is I havent ragged on the GM for a single move he has made this off season. And i think I trust his judgment if he does in fact sign Galette.

Cool - my bad. If this guy was just swinging a belt & not assaulting someone - NP.

Scot likes high character players, so for him to want galette must mean he really likes him. If scot really likes a guy I'm sold. In scot we trust.

An interesting side note is that the Seahawks were interested in Junior as an UDFA back in 2010 (think that's the right year.)

Baggage aside, we are getting a guy that produced 10x what Orakpo had been giving us of late, for a 10th of the price. If he acts up, you cut him and slide Preston in there. I like the move.

I dont think we have to worry about him acting up as he is on the whole one year prove it deal. At 27 he might have realized that he is going to need to be a model citizen AND produce in order to try and get one more big pay day after this year be it with the Skins or some other team.

I think the real worry is that Godell drops a six game suspension on him. But bottom line is, if he is on the field he makes our defense more formidable. If not, we are no worse off than we were two days ago.

Love the vet minimum deal. Pressure always helps a mediocre secondary.
