First time Cano had a game winning walk off hit since '09. Kind of surprising really.

Great win, but I think we have seen enough of this team to not get sucked into the whole Cano is coming out of his slump and will lift the M's garbage. At best his returning to typical hitting might make them a .500 team.

I'm not surprised at all that Cano has been hitting for a higher average over the past 20 games or so. What does surprise me is the 4 homeruns in 14 games. Granted it is a small sample set, but it is more along the lines of the power we expected when we acquired him. If he keeps up that pace through the remainder of the season - 28 homeruns.

What surprises me is that when he was asked how he was feeling, he said "not good", so whatever his stomach ailment is, it's still bothering him.

Hope he can keep it up. Even if he doesn't quite keep up that kind of pace, I'll be happy.

Last year, he chose not to go for power after the first few weeks because he wasn't going to get anything good to hit. After that, he did very well. It's just a shame that he's having what I believe to be psychological issues with the passing of his grandpa, and now the stomach ailment if it's legit. Terrible timing.

The team is horrible, so I'm thinking more about next year already. I still think he and cruz will do well for the next couple of years.
