Bill Parcells and Kicker Adam Vinatieri and guard Logan Mankins were the other finalists for this year’s fan vote.

If you take the greatest pieces of Branch, Brown, Welker and Amendola you get the base for Julian Edelman.
I actually think that's a disservice to each. They were all individuals with different ways of contributing which looked similar. Edelman may have watched and worked with Welker, but what he did was done way differently.

I'd compare Brown and JE more than the others. They brought their lunch pails and focused on what the team needed, then the results followed.

I think “brought their lunch pails and focused on what the team needed” is the qualifier here … not their “different ways” … that’s why I added Grogan

Who did returns? Deion Branch was great early in his career.
Who won SB MVP? Branch.
Who played both ways? Troy Brown stepped in as Defensive Back when called.
Who had massive regular season production? Wes Welker with over 100 receptions.
Who showed up in the Post Season? Danny Playoff Amendola.
Who played their entire career only in New England? Grogan.

Edelman...Great punt and KO returner to start his career, played both ways, earned the nickname Minitron from Brady, 2nd greatest post season stats behind Rice when he retired.
Foxboro Forever.

I read a different context. Good clarification and way beats "just stfu"...

I didn't look closely, but JE beat out Vinitieri. I'm not sure how I feel about that. There's deserving, which both are, and more deserving. I thing Adam might deserve it more.

Adam will get in. Jules would get in if not this year. It probably doesn't matter.

Adam was a clutch kicker. One of the greatest. He made great kicks under stressful situations. They won games because of him.

Jules was a clutch football player. One of the greatest. Because he did anything. They won games because of him.

Which one was more deserving?

But Jules was never considered amongst the best at his position. Sure, my eyes saw that differently. Adam had more individual impact on championships. Would have another kicker performed similarly? That cannot be answered.

Both deserve it.

Who was a better Returner/DB/WR/QB ?

Really? Who got the ball within FG range? All he does is kick it. Well besides run down a returner every now and then.
Adam ain't shit from the opposite 20.
Would have another kicker performed similarly?
Ghost?
That cannot be answered.
Of course.
Both deserve it.
Jules just deserved it a little bit more.

It's a popularity contest amongst voting fans.

Several things to consider.

1. Vinatieri was with the Patriots from 1996 until 2007. (10 seasons)
2. He couldn't get Belichick to give him the money he wanted and left for more money with Indianapolis for 14 more seasons. This is one major reason why he doesn't get all of the votes that he should. He went to the Colts and played for a team that caused the major bullshit charge that got Brady suspended for "nothing".
3. He will not get in the PHOF in 2026 either. Gronk becomes eligible.
4. Anyone under 25 doesn't associate him with the Patriots because they cannot remember him ever being on the team.
5. He'll get in eventually, but the longer it takes, the less number of votes he'll receive as "WE" are all dying off.
