sounds good. hope he turns into something. But he proved the mental game is what got to him, and that always affects the physical. That was the thing with McMullen. Guy would make one handed circus catches in college. But he would let a mistake get in his head, and he couldn't recover. Sometimes it why a headcase like TO or Djax who think they are all that d so much better. The headgames don't take them out of things. Time will tell how huff does. For the betterment of the eagles, lets hope he makes the jump. So far, underwhelmed.

People joke about the Duck thing, but it really seems to be that Kelly is looking for very specific traits and styles in his players. And the good part is that these are not necessarily the top rated players in all cases. I am excited to see how this draft goes. I suspect it will be widely panned. Here and elsewhere, as Kelly drafts a bunch of guys a round or more earlier than the experts rate them.

But at the end of the draft, Kelly will have his guys, that execute things his way. That could be more important than drafting the most talented team.

The only thing I see with Huff is that he was part of Chip's system ... aside from that I don't see anything that screams NFL starter. Role player 3rd or 4th receiver who's a solid special teams player? Sure ... unless he can develop that Hines Ward mental aspect ... but after reading about him he's a long way from that.

He was hurt and got a late start to his rookie year. I am sure he had a lot of frustration. I am not sure if he is a number one or number two at this point but he has flashed some talent. His 107 yard kick off return was nice. I am hopeful he will have a good year.

To me, Huff could be a good slot receiver in Chip's scheme. I don't think he has the talent to be a starting outside receiver in the NFL and I think he was overdrafted by about a round...

I think Chip wanted him to be the eventual slot guy here, not necessarily an outside receiver. Plus has great value as a blocker and in special teams both as a return and coverage guy - something we already know Chip covets heavily.

This could be our new outside guy at 20, IF he lasts that long.

I'd love to be a Huff fan but he hasn't shown me anything yet. Still just a mid round pick with 'potential'.

I haven't seen enough of him but even when he fumbled against the Cards it was because was fighting for extra yards. I like that in a football player. He is a big unknown right now but I am looking forward to see how he does this year.

I definitely like the way he runs after the catch. He's a physical, passionate player and I respect that. But he is built more like a running back than a receiver and probably needs to play inside on short and intermediate routes to be effective. He committed way too many mistakes last season, drops as well as fumbles etc, and was a bit of a mess. But he did show some flashes.

We sure do need him to step it up, he could make a big difference if he can contribute anything substantial to the pass game. I must admit I hated the pick when they made it last year but he's got a good skill set - just put it together.

He didn't do much his rookie year, he sucks…trade him now if we can, or just cut him! Same with Marcus Smith and Jaylen Watkins. :D

In all seriousness I really like Huff and it's evident his head was swimming his rookie year, which is natural for a lot of rookies. I still have high hopes for this rookie class, including players like Smith, Watkins, Hart, Huff…and of course Matthews. Let's give these kids some time to develop -- I'm excited to see what kind of 2nd year jump these players make.

For me it wasn't about his rookie season ... I just don't see anything special about him. Average speed, size and quickness with only one season of production where he didn't need to run many pro type routes. I don't hate the kid ... I can see him having a jack of all trades role, just not banking on him becoming a top starting receiver in the league.

I think he has the upside to turn into a real good #2 WR, or a damn good slot WR. Slot WRs are pretty much starters in todays NFL any way. While he doesn't necessarily have the ideal length - he's 5'11, but he's absolutely jacked up. Dude is a built like a brick house. He doesn't have elite top end speed but he does have very impressive burst and good quickness in my eyes. He's also very physical with the ball in his hands, really nice stiff arm. He's very good in the open field, a good fit in this type of offense. He was injured early on and was playing catch up -- his head was swimming last year and he was thinking too much. I think the game will slow down for him this year and he'll be able to play faster with better focus. He also didn't experience much press jam in college, he should be much better beating DBs off the line this year. At least that's what I see, but to each his own.

He has the sort of build that Kelly is looking for. He wants receivers that can block as well as take a screen pass and run like a RB. Part of what Kelly is thinking with Murray and Ryan Matthews is that they are built the same way, in fact even bigger.

I am expecting alot of RBs, lining up as WRs. Why pay Jeremy Maclin $11M when you can get Murray for $8M? Murray is bigger and nearly as fast. They are all just skill position weapons you can use anyway you want.

Not sure he was worth $11M but he did make some really great catches at clutch times for us. We may be able to replace his production but I hope someone can step up and become a playmaker.

Well said as usual Rey. I don't see him as anything special. Good special teams players, 4th receiver type who you can put some packages in for and can catch 20-25 catches a year.

His biggest issue is his propensity for coughing up the ball. If he gets the fumbles under control, he can definitely be a positive contributor to this offense.
