I am good with this pick. Of course the DB and WR whore in me, REALLY wanted Troy Franklin or TJ Tampa but we really need to add an EDGE. EDGE was what I was expecting in Round 3 as it really tails off after Round 3.

Ellis is very consistent and IMO a safe pick here. He is pretty similar to what we have but you can never have enough good pass rushers. Hard to find an elite pass rusher after Round 1 but I think this is a pretty safe/consistent bet here.

One of the things I look for on LBs - Edge guys and DBs - is their 3-cone time. The 3-cone drill shows you how well an athlete can change direction during a play. Under 7 seconds is elite. Jonah Elliss' 3-cone score was 6.69. I don't recall anyone with a better 3-cone time. Troy Franklin is a 6.9 flat time - which is pretty good but crushed by Elliss' time. Josey Jewell had a 6.8 3-cone time.
