doubt it

more of an immediate problem for the euro leagues that are losing these teams

Well, yeah the Finnish Elite league is really getting smacked in the face here. I was just thinking how the KHL is trying to present itself as an alternative to the NHL and the one big drawback you hear said about it is how it's only attractive to Russians.

They move some other Euro teams and prove they are viable (BIG *if*) and that could be long term trouble getting players to come over or stick around.

Gonna be hard enough to fill rosters with two more potential expansion teams in NHL. Lose 15-20 Finns and Swedes...

the bold is don cherrys wet dream

cdns and americans arent gonna go ... if anything these "champions league" teams in europe going to the KHL will just pull the better players out of the other teams in their domestic leagues

I just take the swiss example (Yannick Weber's words) when he was a kid ... he had no dream of going to north america to play in the NHL ... kids there today now have that dream thanks to all the swiss players (not just goalies) who have made it ... when weber was in sochi thats all anyone on his own Swiss team who wasnt in the NHL asked him about ... NHL this ... NHL that

When more people are attending Yotes games than KHL games, I don't think the NHL is too worried:

RT @IgorEronko: #KHL is only fourth in Europe in avg attendance (5812). Swiss #NLA is 1st (6872), German #DEL 2nd (6343), Swedish #SHL 3rd
