I like to read anything he writes. 6 Pirates in his top 120, including two in the top ten. This system has come a long way. Hopefully these guys start hitting the major league team in 2013. Cool to see how much they've raised or lowered since the beginning of the year. Marte has dropped, but I'm guessing he crunched the numbers a week or so ago before he got on this heater.

I read somewhere that we're the 11th ranked minor league system in baseball. That's a huge jump from a few years ago. :thumb:

Wow that is alot, all of them ranked high enough so the draft picks wont knock them out of the top 100. I guess Appel will join them giving us 7 in the top 100.

Heredia has a chance to fly up everyones rankings.

A lot of experts are still missing the boat on Gregory Polanco as well, he is being overshadowed by Hansen, but still has great overall numbers.

He seems like a solid prospect, but he's a year older than Hanson with good but not great stats. If he continues to do what he is doing, obviously people will notice, but I can't imagine anyone would even consider him top 100 at this point.

Padres have 12 in the top 120 and honorable mentions, that stuck out the most to me.

Sickels says this:

Hanson
Well I try to avoid HUGE swings in value, and going from unknown to 77 was a big enough jump for Hanson in my view. In August he could be higher.

Polanco I looked at only briefly. For some reason I thought he was 22 but I see he’s really only 20. That makes a big difference and I will need to evaluate him more fully for august

I don't take credit for asking the question but I thought it was something interesting to share.

BA's top 50. We have 4 on the list. Cole could possibly be higher, Taillon is probably about right with his overall numbers, Marte is probably about right as well as the list was more than likely assembled before his current hot streak and Hansen jumps up to #40, huge jump for him. I would have thought Heredia would have made the list, his numbers at 17 years old are very impressive for the level he is at, but since it is short season, there wasn't a lot of time for evaluation. Odd that they didn't give an honorable mention.
