How has he not not found a job yet? He is a great defensive center that would be an excellent addition to any team. The team that gets him is gonna be very glad they did.

About how much did he make last year? I agree with you - Madden's a great player. I just wonder if this is a value/age issue.

Where did he sign?

I think it was around 2 mil. If he wants to come back to the CHI at the min I will more than gladly take him back :)

If there is any player out there I think the Caps might still go after, Madden makes sense on a number of fronts if the price tag is for only a year and at or below $2 million.

Reports are that the Wild inked John Madden today (no financial terms known at this time)

Edit: 1 year, 1 million (with bonuses can earn up to 1.25 million)

Especially if the D.C. area has a bunch of ugly girls that like to take limo rides.

Hahaha. Winner.

That is a good deal for the Wild. Their center depth got a nice little boost there.

Yay, multiquote!

If the Wild have not signed him, I always recommend the Isles sign talented vets. It will help with their cap situation, add some much needed leadership, and help them close out games which is something they struggled with last year.

I think the last time the Wild signed a 37 year old in August was Cliff Ronning in the summer of 2002 - and they made the Western Conferene Finals the next season.

Well, at least we can pencil the Wild in for sixth place in the west this season...
