I don’t know what I think of Bates. I really like the agility but he tests as slow. That being said, I saw him wide open a few times in some clips. I am hoping he is a deceptive athlete like Jason Witten. He needs to put on about 15 pounds and not lose any speed or agility, then I may be happier.

At the position, the only real head-scratcher was Brevin Jordan. He just looks like a better receiver of the ball.

I'm sorry but this pick disappoints me. Slow, avg foot work, TE 3 at best, wasted pick. We could have done better at this pick like another DL since moving frwd we cannot keep Allen, Payne, Ioannidis and Settle together too much longer.

i put up about 6 that say differently . he is a sprinkle that can catch , huge difference

Remember, Bates comes out of a winning program that had depth at tight end. He blocks like a lineman, and had more than a few big catches. His speed is not why one drafts a big guy who can block with good hands.
