Absolutely mind boggling. Maybe Powe and Carcillo are done, and they're letting Testwuide, Maroon, and Nodl fight out for the spot alongside Giroux and JvR?

Take it with a grain of salt (obviously) -- but here's the latest from Hockeybuzz...

Volchenkov news brewing (E3)
"Also, Flyers may pull the trigger on a big trade as well"

I'd kind of like to pull the trigger on a big trade. I love the defense, but it is expensive and leaves little room for much of anything during the regular season. If one of our forwards gets moved, that makes room for an upgrade in net but still an incredible defense.

Yes, but every time I hear the words "flyers" and "major trade" in the same sentence I get slightly apprehensive. This could backfire just as easily...

You're remembering the Clarke era my friend, Homer hasn't really made a totally retarded trade yet, Clarke made many(Adam Oates anyone?).

Yeah, I know, but it's a bad habit I haven't been able to kick yet.

Same here I go from praising Homer at time to hoping he dies a horrible painful death because some of his moves remind me of Clarkie a bit too much. However if Calrkie was still here we would prob have Gomez, Drury, Redden and Rosival.... Oh wait only Sather is that retarded :D

On a side note I just realized Homer looks like a genius only giving Emery a one year deal last season. I do hope that Razor does recover from his injury he was a great competitor and pretty classy during his time with the Flyers.

I think they plan for him to play along side of JVR and Giroux to create some space for them. If they let Asham go and buyout Cote it makes up the salary for a more "skilled" enforcer then they previously had. I say skilled due to what I saw from him in the last 2 games of the regular season. I also kind of think that Homer is trying to get down to 1-2 "enforcer" type players rather then the 4 we had on the roster last season(Carbomb, Asham, Lappy & cote even though he played like twice).

I think Asham is a better fit along JVR and Giroux than Shelley. Shelley has a grand total of 16 career NHL goals, at least Asham has pretty decent hands and a good shot. I wouldnt be thrilled about losing Asham but it looks like we may now because of this move. Im indifferent on Carcillo.

Down the stretch Asham played like a scared lost little kid on that line. He stopped hitting and tried to play a "skilled" which he is not suited for, he is a mucker and a pretty good one at that but in the playoffs Lavi starting pulling time from him and play anyone and everyone else on that line the further in they went.

no way he plays on the third line. yea he could create space although giroux and jvr can not just be a 2 man line. they need a guy who can score on that line. i would rather see leigen than shelley.

Shelley is a bigger version of Cote. The only reason he was signed was because he scored goals in both games against the Flyers on the final weekend, including the goal on Sunday that would have sent the Raggies into the playoffs until Carle tied it up. The only reason he scored those goals was because Boucher was in net. Boucher fucks up this team once more!

I completely agree Scott I'm just looking at our current cap situation and roster right now.
