A couple of days ago, I posted an opinion in a thread. I allowed myself to be drawn into a name calling argument. I have never done that before. I will never do that again.

I enjoy hearing what others have to say, but
if you don't have anything to say that may sway me to change my opinion, or if you just want to tell me your opinion, that's great. I will not allow myself to be drawn into name calling argument any more. Good jabs and barbs are fun, ( trash talk ), hey that's part of sports.

When I first heard about SportsHoopla, I was in heaven. ESPN sucks.

I try not to take anything personal and try my best to not make anything personal towards others. If you think I'm an ass, that,s your opinion. I will only respond if it has to do with the subject at hand.

No matter who it was with, let it run off like water. As far as boards go, the bball pages are chalk full of pretty passionate posters who know a lot about college basketball.

I tune all of them in cause most have a pearl or two to throw out through the year.

As much as we don't need any political correctness or people having to second guess what they say, there should also be a degree of civility on here. This is a CBB thread, not even a political thread. How people get so worked up and offended is unfortunate. I think most of us can be pretty passionate about the game and our opinions, but I think we all need to remember at the end of the day that we are just talking basketball; a game than none of us have really no direct influence on (except me; I'm the messiah, I know when #1 seeds aren't going to make it past the Sweet 16 ). On one hand, it's about having a thicker skin, but on the other, we could all be a little more respectful when we post. If anything, it really does enable better discussions with more understanding. I have seen such good debates on here without it devolving into mostly attacks and hyperbolic criticism. I'm as guilty as anyone; we can all improve to make this a better forum to talk about and learn the game.

Tempers do flare on message boards. I try to find the humor in them and be as constructive as possible but so often the threads are subjective and everyone has their own opinion. In the end though it's not worth getting worked up over (or being an asshole for that matter).

Easier said than done sometimes.

the rush of stress/conflict adrenalin caused by the conscious decision to type something disputatious on these boards.

You trolled a person about a post that they didn't even write. When they told you another Arizona fan wrote the post in question, your nonsensical answer was to say that you didn't write that initial post. Well, no shit. It was stupid. If you think you have a right to be stupid without getting called out for your stupidity, then maybe this site isn't for you.

Instead of bitching about being called a name, how about you ask what led you to get called that name. Step up your posting, because that shitshow was among the worst performances I've seen on this site. This thread just makes it all the more pathetic.
