Jerry Jones' Hall of Fame selection no surprise to coaches, owners


Love him or hate him. The man deserves it.
In 1989 he bought the team, fired everybody, and in just 4 seasons won the first of 3 Super Bowls.


Regardless of how much his ego has stood in the way of progress in the last 20 years or so, it does not change the accomplishments of the past that put him in pretty rare company.

No question jerry made the NFL a bunch of money. I know I went to SB27 in Pasadena and paid face value $175 for seats on the 30 yard line and this year face value was $1500. Jerry made a boat load of money for the owners

Still burns me Harris & Pearson are the only two players from the 70's all decade team not in the hall. Hard to make the HOF when the team owner drags his feet putting you in the team ring of honor.

They had a story about jones on Channel 8 last night with video back in the day where he was saying it was about winning and only winning mattered, at any cost. I guess priorities changed a little.

oh well....jerry is the cowboys and it's hard to find fault with any cowboy making the hall.

Same here. I almost fell over when I got to Rose Bowl stadium that day. The building is so low to the ground.
If you seats are not high enough the people on the sideline actually get in your way of seeing the game.

TO is being punished because he has acted like a tool for most of his career and it's 100% wrong.

TO's best bet is to clam up about it for the next several years or praise the process.

Hey, Jerry has enough hardware to get in without raising a lot of eyebrows.
But, Jerry has more than enough clout in the NFL to make this happen and I have no doubt used some of it to grease the skids a little.

The question I have is the timing. Maybe there is a plan in the works for Jerry to step down for the day to day operations. maybe the hall vote was some sort of send off.
