A release this early I think shows the Broncos are giving him the widest opportunity to sign somewhere else.

Can you see the contradiction to what you just said ? We all knew that about him before he was drafted. Should never have gone before the 6th rd.
This shows the flaw in our drafting philosophy in the past which might have been corrected by the example of Muti. High risk high reward guy we take in the 6th. All about investment and potential reward.

Especially when you ignore the fact that he wasn't primarily a receiving TE.

He was not a bust Plenty 3rd round players never see the field. He was worth a 3rd.

I do like your statement that players with injury issues should not go as high as ... but realty of that draft and need might make even you break that rule you state. Hindsight is damn easy to dump on a GM does not necessarily make it true.

Elway's time with the Broncos twice has so blessed us fans we should be rather thankful for him! I know I am so blessed for his time with the Broncos and give such thanks to him!

One last thought Elways Drafts are a show of the staffs he had under him.

Kubiak was damn good at certain things in the draft.

I love our drafts with Fangio...I think Fangio will win us a lot of SB's the man gets the game of Football

At this point I'm ready to be done with him. If we go with Fant and Vannett with Albert O and Beck as well then we pretty much have it covered. The OC can do anything he wants to do with the TE position if we have that group.

We will have 1 other TE Hopefully it will be Butt because the guy is a stud .

Astin Fort(SP) is I want to step up if Butt fails.

Austin Fort will be in the mix - he has better receiving skills than Beck - not as good a blocker - but he is someone in the Beck mold.
