You always feel OK until you take the boot off.

Broke my ankle in May 2011, still played the final few shifts on it. As soon as the game ended I was in serious discomfort, teammates helped me limp into the locker room, one guy who is a former EMT had me take it off (bad idea) and boom - swelled up the size of a watermelon.

ER trip right after and it's a broken ankle and casting 5 days later. Never a good thing when one foot is 50 degrees off the other when pointed straight up.

Adrenaline and mindset is a funny thing, my main focus was to make sure we won, and we did.

I think taking the boot off was probably the most painful part of the whole thing. I wish they would have waited until I got to ER, but he was only trying to help. Can't be mad at someone for that.

They did cut the laces, but I didn't have to get my skate destroyed unlike you.

Good for him, hope he gets a shot there. He wasn't stellar but was a decent 6th-7th defender and seemed like a team guy.
