The live studio audience being there, was a great idea.

And as usual, the music and lyrics were also fantastic (been around since 1970)

But because it was live........a lot of commercial time

Meh.
I watched about 10 -15 min. of it....then changed the channel.
It just never piqued my interest enough to continue watching....but I did give it a try.
Usually those types of live TV remakes with the "modern spin" aspect fall really short.

The original JCS is a classic, and attemping to replicate it for the new generation of viewers without altering it's root integrity is a difficult task if not an impossible one.

Same fault applies to the film industry as well.
Way too many unnecessary remakes, reboots...and even the sequel silliness is out of control imho.
