Mike Greenberg on ESPN said this was the best rookie season in the history of the NFL. He mentioned Jim Brown and Mike Ditka but none of the others had the impact that Jayden Daniels had in his rookie season.

Greenberg is either exaggerating or his historical memory is failing. Jim Brown the true G.O.A.T collected the ROTY award and league MVP in his rookie season. He remains the ONLY player in NFL history to accomplish this feat. Their impact was pretty close but Brown made it to the NFL championship (Today's SB)

Btw; the 1956 Browns finished their season 5-7 and fourth in the East Division. Enter JB and they finish the 1957 season 9-2-1 first in the East, finally losing in the NFL title game (ironically) 59-14 to the Detroit Lions. (There were two six-team divisions back then)

On a side note. Washington has become one of my favorite teams to watch. Never thought I'd say that with a straight face.

Good reply Sty. I never saw Jim Brown play and if this is true then he is the runaway winner of best rookie season ever.
