ESPECIALLY after 6 games! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughable...Just because he has done well with Dalton doesnt make him Tom Moore, Mike McCarthy or Sean Peyton.......

Get the O in the top 10 have a winning season! Develop the young QB for at least 2 years before you bolt! he owes that to Mike an Mike sent a message to the coaches 2 by holding Palmers contract until he thought it was best...You want our OC????? GIVE ME A 1st RD Pick! Tampa did it for Gruden!

Zimmer and Gruden need to go looking after 2012 not until then...If a team calls Cincy asking to speak to Zimmer If Im Mike I tell him "HELL NO"

I go up to Zimmer and tell him "Relax cause you will be the HC in 2013 and Gruden will be asst HC....Marv get promoted to GM or see ya.

DO NOT LET EITHER OUT THE DOOR UNTIL 2013!

J-Will - Are you sure you're not schizophrenic? You were the biggest Gruden fan in the world this offseason, but now he's not good enough to be a HC?

And btw..... You can't keep your OC and DC from taking jobs as HC. They can leave whenever they want - Without compensation. When TB got Gruden, he was the HC of Oakland. You can keep your position coaches from taking jobs as coordinators, but only a few squads do that.

NOPE not schizo at all...Im not saying he sucked I saying TEMPER THE EXCITEMENT when we havent played a REAL DEFENSE like Bmore or Pitt....I like the guy and he makes good adjustments but HC talk ALREADY???????????? Come on now......have 1 WINNING SEASON 1st is all Im saying....

SOmeone called Dallas a few years back about Garrett and Jones said NO cause he was under contract and then gave him a raise and asked him to relax....It can be done trust me....Mike was the only guy that gave Jay a job and now he leaves after 1 season with his rookie QB???? BLACKBALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not happening......Zimmer has more of a chance then Gruden..We will see.

What jobs do you figure will be available? Here's what I think:

Miami - Bill Cohwer??
Houston - Could be available if Kubiack doesn't make playoffs
Jacksonville - They'll try to get someone cheap and on offense. Jay Gruden?
St. Louis - Not sure what kind of coach they'd want.
Arizona - Cheap. Maybe Gruden?

I'm starting to think it's definitely possible.

on top of that if the dude(Gruden) took another job there would be so many Carson comparisons because he walked in 1 year it would be rediculous....Im more worried about Zimmer.....If Zimmer leaves I would go after Mike Nolan...No quiet Tony Dungy types running defense in Cincy....We need a "PunchYouInTheMouth" type of DC if Zimmer leaves....Get it??? :) LOL

I'd be happy for either of them to get a HC position - It's what these guys coach for.

You need to have a vagina to be compared to Carson.

Agree with you about Nolan - He'd make a great DC given his previous experiences with Marvin and he'll probably out of job when the entire Miami coaching staff gets fired.

and watch MB blocks that shit like Clements did the FG against Indy...LOL!

Jax needs to make a splash....Maybe Jon Gruden regardless of new Monday night deal.....

Houston goes after the OC for the Saints that called EVERY PLAY last night against the Colts (62 points??? DAYUMMMM!!)

Cowher is going to Miami and he doesnt want the WC...his offense will mirror the Pitt offense when he was there.....ie..GROUND AND POUND with PA.

Whizenhunt gets 1 more season.......

St Louis will go after an offensive coach and they may come from Mike McCarthy's staff or it may even be Andy Reid if he is fired....

Gruden will give us 2 years GUARANTEED!

I would say I agree. Let Gruden at least finish one year before crowning his ass.

Zimmer will likely be a HC somewhere, he's done a god job here.

Marvin appears to be worn down a little bit, but Brown doesn't like to fire head coaches, so I guess Zimmer goes on to coach somewhere else. This is the town we live in, we can fantasize, but at the end of the day we either deal with it, or start rooting for Indy.

Mike was the only guy that gave Jay a job and now he leaves after 1 season with his rookie QB???? BLACKBALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He had many offers in the years prior; however, he always turned them down because he loved being in Orlando(?) and near family. The only reason he decided to turn to the NFL the year we took him is because his AFL/UFL team in Orlando was moving. So he thought it was time.

Anyone watching film knows the kind of job Gruden is doing with his scheme. I believe it's one of the best in the league. The only thing left to question is his playcalls during the game. That I agree you can't put him at the level of Belichick, Payton, etc...not yet.

Additionally, coaches typically don't leave for a lateral move, so he'd have to be promoted to HC somewhere. After one season, I just don't see it happening. Though having Jon as a brother certainly doesn't hurt his chances.

*Edit: Owners cannot block promotions to other teams.

Owners cannot block promotions to HC..... They can deny an assistant coach the permission to interview as a coordinator.

NFL assistant coaches consider unionizing - ESPN Chicago

I could see one of the Florida teams (Jax / Miami) trying for Gruden as HC by seasons end. If he happens to land in Miami, Gruden could be heading over there with Luck in sight and Reggie Bush at least as his for now starting RB. Draft a WR, sign one in free agency and sprinkle and little OL in there...and that offense will be fine while he hires a DC to help rebuild that side of the ball.

If was nice we got a guy to help ease Dalton into the league, and hopefully he stays, but the job he and Zimmer are doing here..i can't imagine they are for long.

I dont think Gruden (Jay) is going anywhere...Zimmer on the other hand, might be on a few teams short lists if the defense keeps it up.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but Zimmer's high ranking could have a lot to do with an easy schedule. Even Cleveland is in the top 5 in total defense right now - And they've had an easy schedule as well. Let's see where they are at the end of the season to fully evaluate Zimmer's prospects.

that's true, but he's had a few decent years here. There's probably a few clubs that would hire him.

the only place I've seen Gruden mentioned as a HC canicate was an orlando newspaper. probably a writer he's friends with from his UFL days floating the idea to create a positive buzz for him...

he's going a great job though...

Zimmer is gone if the defense keeps playing like this..
