From Schefter on twitter:
Oakland is considering hiring Stanford defensive coordinator Jason Tarver as the Raiders new defensive coordinator.
He just completed his first year at Stanford as their assistant DC and LBs coach.
Going back, when Nolan had his stacked staff that so many people in the league talked about as one of the top assistant coaching staffs in the league, Tarver was on it (in several different roles) and I've read several times in the past couple of years that many in the NFL who know him feel like he has future NFL HC potential. He was actually with the 49ers even before Nolan (since '01) but he started gaining some attention right after Nolan was hired. He's a very well respected guy from everything I've gathered over the years.
