I watched this a week or so ago. Not horrible. Not great.
Felix needs to stay away from water. That dude does not fare well around water. (He has had 2 water deaths now…. Live and Let Die killed him in a makeshift shark tank and now he drowns in this movie).
While Skyfall was a good movie, it locked in the fact that “James Bond” is not a cover ID. It officially made official that there is no continuity in the Bond flicks. Making it a cover allows for more flexibility in the ongoing story telling.
Having no continuity means they just make another movie. Easy peasey. But there just isn’t any big deal about what happened in this movie when continuity doesn’t matter.Yeah. That’s a great point.
Really makes you wonder about the bond franchise moving forward
Basically everything would have to be on a timeline before this movie

I rather enjoyed the little nods to previous movies in pre-Craig Bond. Roger Moore had trouble getting close to women specifically because of Lazenby. He even killed Blofield because of that whole storyline.
I was somewhat OK with Craig being a kind of reboot for the whole series, but casting Judy Dench as M just added mud to the waters. Then they hinted that ”M” was her initial when it had already been established that “M” was short for “Management” and “Q” was “Quartermaster” in earlier movies.
I am a big “universe” guy. I like when there are consequences to events that happen in a franchises movies. That adds depth. It add richness. Bond has made it official that basically every movie is stand alone and is not dependent on anything that has come before. IMHO, that’s lazy.
