I really dont get the Guy Boucher love ... 23rd in goals against ... hovering around a zero goal difference ... special teams are above average but isnt that more the asst coaches domain ... I dunno ???

I agree with this. I actually wouldnt even put him in the top 5

Bylsma - the biggest names in injuries and still a 100 point season
Vigneault - Presidents trophy with the most man games lost (and most all D)
Babcock - incredible injuries and again top 3 team
Trotts - everything with nothing. though I hates him hes done very very well
Boudreau - it looked long and lost early but look at them now. plus his spot on 24/7 was the best :). i want to rewatch it to count how many times he dropped the F-Bomb

my winner is Vigneault but Bylsma will win it this year.

I love talking about this award because every year there is a slew of deserved winners and you can really make a case for a ton of guys. So tough this year.

What Bylsma's done has been sick. And the vote-getters aren't immune to the influences of 24/7 which made Bylsma look awesome.

Vigneault. Lots of injuries on the blueline. He may not get as much consideration as he should because he has a great team and for some reason this award seems to always go to the overachieving.

Trotz. Continually seems to get the most out of his squad even without any real gamebreakers at forward.

Babcock. Tons of injuries to Detroit. Still one of the top teams in the West.

You could make the case for a few others. I put Ruff before Boucher. No offense to Boucher...I'm sure he's a great coach, but I still put a lot of the praise for Tampa's season on Stevie Y. How about Tippett? It's a circus in Phoenix and they're still getting their thing done. I really like that team. You can make a case for Boudreau as well, but I wouldn't put him in my top three.

Lemaire if he had started ten games earlier might have had the Devils in the playoffs and would be a shoe-in.

Hope Bylsma wins, but I won't be crushed if he doesn't. I'm just glad he's in the conversation. Unless he had coached the Pens to some sort of monster record-breaking season, he would never get Jack Adams consideration coaching this team without a ton of injuries because of the talent.

I'll go Bylsma-Babcock-Vigneault/Tippett.

It's amazing what BB has done in DC, but he won't get serious consideration because Washington was basically in a similar spot last year (minus that rut from earlier in the season) and they haven't had extremely huge injury issues. Lots of shorter tenured losses scattered about. Vig deserves a lot of credit for the stats.

Hi loki, where you been?

Around. Been pretty busy at work and moving to a new (bigger) place in May. Been having friends over for every game, so I haven't been posting during. I know life's been rough for ya lately, but are things getting better?

At one time this year they were 30th in the NHL but since the ASG (or Jan 1st, I can't remember but they mentioned it on Versus) have accumulated more points than any other team in the NHL (I think it's 62).

The Sabres have earned more points than any team in the East since Jan 1st, and the most points of any team in the NHL since Feb 23rd.

And I would love to get them in the first round. :hungry:

He won't win it, total homer pick, no disrespect to Bylsma who will win it, but Lemaire is the best coach in the league. Aside from the "needed a change" coaches there are only a handful of coaches that can greatly impact a teams win/loss total and Lemaire is one of them. Can't wait for next season. With that said, Bylsma should win it.
