Ok i already started talking with one of my buddies about this stuff and in my opinion its fun to see what people come up with because i think we have a lot of options...

with that said if you were the GM of the new jersey devils.. what would the opening night roster look like?

I would give Zubs or Salvador a one way ticket to Albany if we can't trade them.. and slot in Larsson, Murphy, Couturier or Hopkins in there spot

combined with the need to make a trade for payroll (we assume barring a massive cap raise) and that we could be picking an nhl ready player (dream dream dream :D), and combining that with our needs and where we are drafting i wouldn't be suprised to see something like....

this:

parise-zajac-palmieri
kovy-couturier-tedenby
elias-josefson-clarkson
zharkov-steckel-pelley

as our forwards, d i'm just too unsure capwise if greene will be back or what he's even worth. but realistically i don't think i could give him a dime over 1.8 he's not consistant enough.

Those forwards lines look nice but I don't see any way Rolston is not on our roster next year. He's basically untradeable and putting him in the minors doesn't remove his cap.

You're also wrong about couturier since the devs will be drafting larsson instead of him :D

Put in Larsson, don't sign Greene, keep Zubrus, trade Sal, get Hedberg back at lower salary....

Hopefully all that fits into the cap.

Hahaha also I want Larsson too but I think he's more likely to be gone at that point than couturier
