It's a GREAT Day for Hockey

Happy Playoffs for those whose teams made it to the Dance this year. For the first time since 2008 I will be a casual observer who will judge incessantly, offer my expert advice on what was dirty and what was not, completely disagree with your assessment of that said incident, shake my head profusely when one of you believe that the other player on the other team is dirtier than yours. Sigh in exasperation when a Vancouver riot reference is brought up for no reason and sigh sadly knowing that today is a day I should have been growing my playoff beard and listening to my wife complain daily about it.

Sigh....

That all being said, I will watch as much as I can, with a beer in hand and I might actually enjoy all 4 rounds this year since my team wont be swept or lose in the first round and I obviously would have to brood over it.

So to get it out of the way I HATE THE BRUINS, SCREW YOU KINGS, F$%K DALLAS and enjoy the playoffs everyone, it will go by a way faster than we all want.

I will think of Bossman through every round. Rest well my friend. Enjoy the games up there.

Bob Johnson was a terrific coach for the Flames (I'd go as far as to say on par with Darryl Sutter as best in Flames history) and did a masterful job behind the Flames bench in '86 taking that team to the Cup final. I was pretty happy when he finally got to sip from Lord Stanley's chalice with the Pens.

I love seeing the old black-and-white clips of dudes swinging their sticks around like they're Hacksaw Jim Duggan, gives me something fun to think about to pass the time when some old fart (I'm looking at you in particular Mr. Cherry) starts babbling about how those types of things never happened in the good old days because everyone respected one another out there.
