I'm telling you, rewatch this game and watch our guys up front on Defense. They played hard the entire game. I am really impressed with the improvement that we've made on Defense. Cook is a good quarterback and we held him to 13 of 29 passing.

1 QB hurry and 0 sacks, not sure our D-line was that great. i do agree that they played hard and MSU was doing a lot of max protect type stuff to eliminate Gregory.

Yea, but when we call an audible and don't change our formation, how do they know that they need to change their alignment?

All they have to go off of is what they hear at that point.

Whether the formation is changed or not, the defense shifts to an alternate defensive call. You do not have to change formations to change a play. You can't tell if the defense was called to shift regardless of an audible or not. They line up to give one look, then shift after the change to the defense they wanted to run in the first play.

It's really pretty simple. "Line up like *this* then if they come out with two TE's audible to *this* and shift."

There were quite a few times when TA had enough time to get passes off, but he just threw some terrible passes instead. Despite this, TA by far can't be blamed for this loss. The buck stops at our multi million dollar coach.

Nebraska is about the 20th to 25th ranked team level wise nothing more, mainly because of coaching ability. I just don't see Nebraska beating Michigan State, unless the coaching improves. If Nebraska faces them again in the title game, the little things right will just bite them in the ass again.

I did get my hopes up before last Saturday that maybe things will be different this time. So much for that.

The team and Pelini. I truly believe that Nebraska wins that game with about 20 to 25 coaches in America who just make better big game decisions. I also believe that there is a fine line in ability between Pelini and those coaches ahead of him.
