What a surprise, his side makes him look like an innocent bystander. I do believe him though, we we've discussed Haley is a thug, he probably would have fought a fan if the fan looked him in the eyes just to say "good fight"

Whatever bud. Believe what you want to believe. I'm done.

Watching the clip (I think MSG had the better angles most of the night with this stuff), it looked like Hayley was most of the way to the box while Johnson stood at the blueline looking at the scrum, Hayley then turned towards Johnson, they made eye contact and Johnson didn't back down. I don't think Hayley would've thought differently if it were a different goalie, and that's scary. Regardless, as has been pointed out, this was a failure of the refs.

Matt, do you blame Goddard?

A game like this, imagine an AHL call-up, a pure thug with two decisive fights in the game already, coming 180 feet to go after Schneider.
I would certainly appreciate someone stepping in, even if from the bench.

no I blame the league :)

Don't piss Bert off, Puckhead. How many different angles do you want to see him score from this week?:D

that was largely my point. looked to be a largely similar intent / action.
The difference was the outcome.... So I wonder how it will be treated.

I agree Puckhead. I look at the Bertuzzi Moore incident like drunk driving... It is dumb and dangerous, but most of the time no one gets injured and people who are caught just get a minor penalty compared to the possible prison time they would get if they did hurt someone.

Bertuzzi's actions were no worse than many of other cheap/dangerous actions we see on the ice every year. There was also that huge dogpile that may have contributed to Moore's injury. In any case, I thought it was very funny how people stopped booing/hating him once he came to their team.

Leaving Vancouver was the best thing for him. I am very happy he is still playing good hockey and people are cheering for him again.
