Many of us on this board feel that JMac doesn't fit to NHL level, based on what we see right now. Should he get more chances to try to fix this situation or Lou should start taking over and find/hire someone with NHL experience? What do you think guys?

If the Devils only get three max points by game 15 the season is realistically over.

Honestly, the devils just don't seem like they're picking up his system. They looked like they knew what they were doing under Lemaire, but in the preaseason everyone was praising the new system MacLean implemented, Parise said several times that they are much better off with a plan for leaving their own end.

Maybe its time to simplify things for a bit.that's not to say the new system won't work but I can't see it working with the sloppy passing and wide shots.if the get their basics working then maybe the new system will follow.

Hitting the net would be a wonderful start, how many great scoring chances have gone away because the Devils miss the net

I agree because there have been numerous times they have missed the net. I mentioned in another thread a while back that Taormina missed the net on several point shots and he is only one of many.

At least Taormina is shooting. And for the most part I like what he's doing. He's creating lanes most of the time and he shoots from spots where the puck doesn't carry around the opposite boards. I just think they need someone in front of the net. I'm sick of this parise handing at the side bs.

hmm i've kinda gone back and forth on the coach situation. I really did think his job should in jeopardy but i'm not sure that if we hired a new coach it's gonna make the team just click out of nowhere.

The more i think about it too he's a rookie coach in the NHL, gotta feel sorry for the way it's started. I mean a lot of the situation has been the team playing so badly. True he needs to do something, and so far his line changes didn't impress me but like others said once the devils get back to winning it'll be forgotten faster than you think.

Only problem is by the time they start winning it's going to be too late, at least this year.

As far as I can recall coaching replacements - it is usually works, at least teams play better and start winning. And it is not coming from nowhere. We have previous seasons' core of players and they can click with new coach.

I talked myself into J Mac being a good fit during the offseason but ignored a lot of the obvious problems presented. A rookie head coach is not what a team this talented and with this many veterans needed. We were all against the idea of getting a recycled coach that has been around the league, but that may not have been the worst idea.

I'll be pretty surprised if Jmac gets fired. Not saying he shouldn't be, but i'll be surprised if that happens.

Honestly, I don't think he should be fired at all, but what other choice do they have?

I wonder what made Lou think Mac was ready for the job this year. It seemed like such a rushed situation, sending him down to coach for one year and then giving him this job. Granted, he did well down there, but it was still only one year.
