Let's take for granted Alabama, Clemson, ohio state and Notre Dame are the top four ... who is number 5?

Gotta be LSU.

Just beat what was the 2 team in the country convincingly, and their only loss was a close game on the road to what will probably be a top 10 team.

They just dropped 8 positions after losing by 8 points to Florida ... should they pass Texas, Central Florida and Michigan? Should a Florida team that beat them 2 weeks ago be ranked behind them? Tough call all over the place, personally I don't care where we are ranked until we beat Michigan, State, Penn State, Rutgers, Indiana and of course ohio state.

Once you put Central Florida in the top you are just about guaranteeing the a spot in the playoffs if they win out.

I honestly think theyre a top 15 team. Theyre being over ranked bc they beat an overrated OU team. Anybody can literally put up 400+ yards on OU... Not that hard. They have a really good D which imo gives them the right to be an easy top 15 team.

I'd give em top 10 for now. I don't think they end up there, they have another loss in them. But Can't list 10 teams ahead of them as of right now. Not top 5 though.

really a top 5 team? Wow

Last week I was emphatic that Texas wasn’t a top 10 team. They played a poor game featuring the back-up Qb this week. I still don’t think they are top 10, but everyone keeps losing or struggling to win. I am still skeptical, but there doesn’t seem to be many teams out there without obvious deficiencies.

I am not taking Clemson or Ohio State for granted. Clemson has issues on both sides of the ball (offense and back 7). OSU is giving up a ton of big plays. That is going to bite them in the ass, if it doesn’t get cleaned up

They have the rest of the B12-2 to play and their fake championship game. They might not see a team with a defense until they get to their bowl game

Iowa State disagrees with that assessment.

Yes, Texas plays a bunch of shitty defenses on their schedule.

Defensive Yards allowed per play of teams on Texas' schedule:
Maryland 4.61
Tulsa 5.63
USC 4.95
TCU 4.60
KSU 5.65
OU 5.29
Baylor 6.34
Okie Jr 5.32
WVU 5.28
Texas Tech 6.05
Iowa State 4.95
Kansas 5.85

Defensive yards allowed per play of a team not on Texas' schedule:
TEXAS A&M 5.94

I'd take your bullie dawgs over the corndogs on a neutral field. But, I suck at picking these games.

Your link doesn't match the one I posted or the NCAA's stats.

All I know is the Aggies have the 20th ranked defense based on yards per game, and I'm quite pleased with that.

Sorry, would love to argue with you but I have to go watch the Astros.:suds:

Yours are adjusted numbers. I used the straight numbers. Yards per game stats is based on a bunch of factors. Yards per play isn’t.

I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, but this team has had a different feel than last season since day 1. We've got the talent, but I think we need a year of seasoning in some areas, especially the o-line. 2 true freshmen and a RS freshman are playing significant minutes there, and while you see the potential, they make their share of freshman mistakes. And at some point I think we're gonna have to go with the more talented underclassmen at LB instead of the more experienced seniors. The seniors might have a better understanding of what they need to do, but they're just not capable of doing it. But then again, our 3 starting LBs from last season are all on NFL rosters now, so I guess you had to expect some drop off there.

Last year the seniors were the difference maker. This is a weak senior class. We're probably legitimately a top 10 team, but I'd be shocked if we returned to the playoffs. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not too stressed about it. I expect this to be our worst roster for the next 4-5 years, and given that, this is still a pretty damn good roster.

We're definitely not as bad as we showed yesterday. The game got away late, but it could have been a different story had a few things gone differently earlier in the game(not overthrowing Hardman when he had a sure TD, taking the FG, staying with the run game, etc). We bounced back nicely after getting beat down on the road last year. Hope we can do the same this year, but even if we run the table, I don't see a path to beating Bama with a healthy Tua. Hopefully LSU can pull some magic against Bama, we take care of our business and we get a shot at a rematch.

Don’t bother. A&M is 93rd, Ark is 103, and Ole Miss is 106 yards per play defense, but the west is all about defense and the Big 12 plays none

Conversation is about Texas and the slapdick Monghorns can only think about A&M and the SEC.

So sad

I've got the context. Clearly staying on topic is not your thing. Thread about Texas and you bring up A&M and tSEC.

shop is set up and rent ain't even charged.
