Just wanted to get some feedback on this based on a recent conversation on here, and to figure out if I'm just being an absolute homer.

I personally believe that Miller is an elite goalie in the NHL today, and his stats don't really tell the whole story as to how great a goalie he really is.

What say you?

Personally, given what I know, I believe :ipw: can lift 100 pounds over his head.

Not a chance. If there was ever any doubt left in me about his ability, it was put to rest in the 2010 olympics. IMO, he was truly the MVP of that entire tournament, even in losing the gold medal game.

Not at all. He has a very young defense in front of him that at times forget how to break up plays in front of the net and also get caught when they "pinch" at the wrong time.

Also now that the Sabres seem to have a solid back-up they wont kill the guy by playing him in so many games.

Can he play better? Probably, is he overrated? . No.

He controls rebounds as good as any goalie in the league and his positioning is solid. His puck handling is not the best but I can live with that.

Most importantly is he doesn't get rattled and if they play a shitty game he never points fingers and takes the blame himself.

Not too mention he's been struggling with injuries this year. Just look at Tim Thomas last season because of a nagging injury.

Shit happens ya know, but he's started only what, 35 straight games or something? But I'm sure that's normal in the NHL for a goalie to start so many games in a row.

Good point and as I said he doesn't make excuses he just plays the games. The TT comparison is a good one. He struggled last year and I don't know how many interviews Ive seen with him when he is asked whats the difference and say's "i'm healthy this year"
