Guess we can use this thread for the ongoing season thread.

Free-agent relievers Joel Hanrahan and Ryan Madson are available, working their way back, have experience as closers and could be possible fits for the Mets (Heyman (SI.com) Apr. 2).
Kyle Farnsworth will join the Mets late Wednesday afternoon, replacing Bobby Parnell, who has a partially torn ligament in his right elbow. Parnell is expected to rest and miss at least two weeks before starting a throwing program.

I'd take a flyer on Hanrahan, not Madson.

1. I think we’re going to surprise a lot of people this year.
2. We might have the most underrated starting pitching staff in baseball.
3. You know, this could be a pretty tough lineup, if either Ike Davis or Lucas Duda produces.
4. I really think we have an outside shot at a Wild Card.
5. If Travis d’Arnaud turns out to be half the player that Buster Posey is I’ll be happy.

So I'm hearing it's 50/50 as to whether or not there will be TJ surgery for Bobby P? Which probably means he 100% needs it but the medical staff will wait until August so that he misses next season.

John Lannan was outrighted and Daisuke Matsuzaka has been called up, the Mets announced.
Dice-K will pitch out of the bullpen. In two starts at Triple-A, Matsuzaka has a 2.25 ERA and 1.083 WHIP over 12 innings. He’s allowed seven hits, walked six and struck out 12.

He's pitched well in the minors. Good call up
