Get your buddies together and head down to the committee hearings next Wednesday. Just being there is all the support we need. It is time to end the gender bias in Nebraska's court systems NOW.

Either of these bills has a very good chance to pass. The Nebraska Bar Association which has for years been opposing Joint Custody of children has opted to no longer oppose it. In part because studies done for decades have proven that limiting time between fathers and their children has been detrimental to the children's and community health. It has greatly increased their likelyhood for problems with alcohol/drug abuse, truancy from school, dropping out of school, teen pregnancy, and early incarcerations. Last session (April 2012), the bar association was told by the legislature to be prepared to disprove the studies in this years session. Obviously they couldn't so they've backed down on the issue. Their argument that going back and forth between two homes is too disruptive to children has been proven to be false and they will now be reduced to fighting over cum stained couches to line their pockets.

This bill is patterned off of one that recently passed in Arizona.

This bill is patterned off of one that recently passed in Minnesota.
When reading the bills pay attention to what is underlined as that is what will be added to the current law removing gender bias from the gutless judges hands.
For you younger guys these bills are your future. They will prevent the abuses that the Nebraska courts and mothers have been submitting children to for decades.
