Taylor does not have a bowl win....
2010 was not on Taylor... that INT killed us, but he could hardly walk and our coaches refused to play another QB near the end of the game. We should have won that one for sure.
All fans blame the QB. It is the nature of the position. Just like being a head coach, it all falls on you. Unless of course your name is Bo Pelini or Bill Callahan in his first 2 years because too many fans blamed Solich for Callahan's debacle and too many fans have Bo a pass because of Callahan.
Funny you say this because my theory on Bo is that bc of how scarred husker nation was with BC as coach Bo will get a pass bc people don't want to go back to 04 and 07 like seasons .
Not to say Bo hasn't done alot of good things and improved the program but I believe the bar was set low because of what BC did to us. Because we all know the knock for against solich was big game losses and poor recruiting sound alil familiar huh, difference is solich came after a legend and bo came after BC and solich years.
I know it's hard to fire a coach who wins 9 games but that what they did to solich, my prayer is Bo opens his eyes and swallow his pride.
Last point has anyone seen the recruiting for the other big ten schools holy crap some teams already have 6-7 recruits and Michigan has almost all from top150 espn man we gotta get on it
And I hate that crap because it isn't like our only choice is to go back to Billy C teams if Bo was gone. Maybe we actually get a real coach that knows how to be a head coach and hire qualified assistants and actually develop players.
the fact is the Huskers are 0-3 in Bowl games and 0-2 in championships the last 3 years. as others have already stated, it's not all on taylor. not sure why you want to bash on taylor when there are tons of others to blame.
if you want to blame anyone, blame Bo - shouldn't have played taylor in 2010. should have had a better defense in 2012.
Here's the big dilemma and ex CBS poster All remember this
If you get rid of Bo bc 9-10 wins isn't enough it sends a huge message that 9-10 wins isn't enough at Nebraska . Which will scare young coaches away and make experience coaches pause and think is it worth it?!.
So that leaves Nebraska in the worse position ever bc Bo won't ever dip into 7/8 win season schedule too soft and talent is enough to count 7-8 every year atleast . So then you say ok what if those four losses are blowout?! Well then you have to hope it's to bad teams bc ucla osu and Uga were good teams to kool aid drinker can say we only had 1 really bad loss.
So what do you do?? Nebraska need a coach that either develop or recruit top talent. With the way history went for us most AD are gonna play safe and hope bo steps it up and gets over the edge .
I agree, and I have been saying the same thing for years. The national backlash we got when we wrongly fired Solich put us in a hole where we had to settle for Billy C. As much as I don't think Bo is "the guy" we can't fire him. Just need to hope he leaves on his own. But I must also say that while I don't think he is the guy, I still hope and pray that he gets it figured out and wins every game. No matter how I feel about the head coach I will never want the te to lose!!! Stupid people did that with Solich and Billy C. I never did and never will, no matter how badly I want the coach gone.

very well put... would your attitude change to Bo if Nebraska went 12-2 this season?

Unless there is a "diamond in the rough" DT on NU's roster right now (the likes of Dorsey or Suh), expect Bo to be outcoached at least 3 times this year. Therefore Taylor will not win a CCG or even a 2nd tier bowl win.
That diamond is supposed to be Vincent valentine.... But health and weight issue is holding him back. But your spot ok with your statement the DL is the big key for success this season.
