I know the Sabres were under a lot of pressure to match the offer sheet for Vanek (after losing both Drury and Briere), but just imagine the team with those 4 first round draft picks.

As for Bobby Ryan, hockeydb lists him as 6'2" and 218 lbs. Now if he was 5'10" and 180 lbs, I'm sure Lowebellini would be submitting an offer sheet :p

The Ryan situation is interesting. The Ducks don't want to pay him more than Getzlaf & Perry. Ryan looks at what Semin & Backstrom got & feels he deserves something similar. The Ducks have the cap space but, I have a feeling this could get ugly.

The Stars bankruptcy situation could make the Neal signing interesting. There were rumors leading up to the draft about Richards & Ribeiro being on the block. I don't think either one of them will be easy to trade for different reasons. Richards because of his contract. Ribeiro because of his attitude.

I'd take Richards on the Flames and would include Backlund in a package going back to the Stars. I like Backlund, but I would love to see what Iggy and Richards could do as linemates.
